TEHRAN (CHN) – The discharge of chemical and toxic remains from petrochemical complexes in Khuzestan Province into the Persian Gulf has resulted in death of thousands of marine animals living in the Persian Gulf waters.

Announcing this, Dr. Nabavi from Iran’s Department of Environment (DoE) said: “The sewage disposal of Petrochemical Complex of Khor Musa in Khuzestan Province is pouring into the Persian Gulf waters, causing a lot of problems for the marine animals of the region.

According to Nabavi, samples from the dead fish have been collected and after carrying some studies on them, the petrochemical complexes which have violated the rules will be fined.
